I found a pair of old buffet doors at an estate sale that my husband and I went to in Oak Park, Illinois. There they were buried beneath a pile of broken furniture pieces in the garage.
I picked them up and I could feel how heavy they were. When I saw them, I immediately envisioned what I wanted to do with them.
First, I removed the hardware and lightly sanded the doors down. I painted them a pretty sage green and glazed them to pull out the details of these beautiful doors.
Check out Sophia's Decor for glazing tips.
Then, I stenciled onto the center of the doors a "Mr." and "Mrs." in brown paint.
I finished it with Miss Mustard seed's furniture wax.
For a finishing touch I replaced the knobs, which I purchased at World Market. When I bought them they were on sale. I love me a sale!
Here they are in their new home.
